DEFECTS OF DIECASTING: SOLDERING

DEFECTS OF DIECASTING: SOLDERING

OUR PRESENTATION AT THE AIM WEBINAR

On May 3, 2022, in Webinar mode, a Study Day will be held organized by the Die Casting Technical Committee of the AIM (Italian Association of Metallurgy), dedicated to the soldering defect. This is a particularly important defect since it involves both the casting and the mold and may require frequent maintenance interventions on the molds, which can lead to unexpected costs and reductions in productivity. Proper lubrication, combined with the use of adequate release agents and the optimization of other process parameters, are of fundamental importance to avoid the onset of this defect. Our Sales Manager Flavio Cecchetto will present a paper entitled "The influence of Lubrication" in which he will illustrate how the analysis of a possible defect of this type must be addressed, on which process parameters to focus attention and which characteristics it must possess the release agent to avoid the soldering. We therefore invite process technologists and foundry operators, who must guarantee the quality of the castings produced on a daily basis, to take advantage of this highly interesting training initiative by registering for the Study Day.
